If you know me, I’m a HUGE fan of tacos. Salads? I don’t not like them. However, a taco salad? I can’t resist a delicious taco salad. If you already have some taco meat prepared, then this just takes minutes to prepare. If you don’t, I’ll be making a separate post for the ground beef. The focus here is assembling the salad.

If you don’t trust this recipe, just think of it this way. This is basically a taco in a bowl without the shell or wrap. If that doesn’t convince you either, that’s okay. You will just need to try this taco salad for yourself. I seriously am not a huge fan of salads. If you know me, I’m a huge carnivore. I just recently started to substitute 1 meal for a meatless version and trust me. It’s so hard.

Anyway. If I have left over taco meat, this is the the only thing I will make until it’s gone. Why? Because I love a really good taco salad.

Tips On Making A Taco Salad

This salad is highly customizable. You can either add everything I do, leave things out, or change it up completely. It’s all up to you.

I know some people may not like ground beef in their salad. You can change the protein as well. Whether it be carnitas, chicken, or fish. Besides, there are different tacos aside from ground beef right? So why not also use it in this salad.

Air Fryer Salmon – Here is an easy salmon recipe that you can use for your taco salad! If you don’t decide to use it for this salad, it’s good either way.

Slow Cooker Carnitas – Another simple recipe that you can use for a taco salad, taco, or burrito. The choice is yours. Either way, it yields delicious results!

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup Ground Beef
  • 3 leaves Romaine Lettuce
  • 2 tablespoons Red Onion
  • 2 tablespoons Tomato
  • 1/4 cup Shredded Mexican Cheese
  • 1 tablespoon Sour Cream
  • Pico De Gallo optional

Instructions

  • Wash the romaine lettuce, dry, and put down on a plate.
  • Add ground taco meat
  • Add chopped onions and tomato OR pico de gallo if using instead of chopping your own tomatoes and onions.
  • Add dollop of sour cream
  • Sprinkle cheese on top of the salad.
  • Mix and enjoy.
