Slow Cooker Carnitas

Buckle down y’all! I have a great homemade slow cooker carnitas recipe for you!

There is nothing complicated about my homemade slow cooker carnitas. It uses simple ingredients that are easily found in a home pantry. If it isn’t, it can easily be found at a grocery store, and you’ll be on your way to making it!

One of my favorite things about my carnitas is that it is made in a slow cooker. I can start cooking it early in the morning and just let it cook all day. Another thing is that it makes the house smell fantastic. The bad thing about it is that the smell makes me want to rush the cooking and dig in as soon as possible. I sometimes pick at it towards the end of the cooking since I can’t wait anymore.

I LOVE how the slow cooker carnitas turns out in the end. The carnitas shreds so easily. It’s so tender and super juicy. There are so many ways that you can enjoy. Whether it’s in taco form, in a burrito, on a salad, or even in a quesadilla. Whatever way you choose to eat my slow cooker carnitas, you’ll definitely be a fan!

If you decide to give this recipe a try, let me know in the comments down below! Also, don’t be shy to let me know how you enjoyed them too! I personally have used my carnitas in tacos, salads, and nachos. All were super delicious!

Ciao for now!

Tips On Making Slow Cooker Carnitas

If strapped for time, set the slow cooker on high and cook for at least 5 hours. I recommend cooking on low for 12 hours.

This yields a large amount of carnitas. I usually end up giving away the leftovers or I put them in an airtight container and keep it in the freezer.
